Venezuela To Establish Embassy In Accra

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has plans to establish an embassy in Ghana, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

This was communicated to Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs by Yván Gil, Venezuela’s foreign Minister, on the margins of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the bilateral meeting, Gil commended Ghana for its consistent defence of international law and acknowledged the longstanding friendship between the two nations.

He announced that Venezuela would soon open an embassy in Africa, with Accra chosen as the host city.

He further pledged increased scholarships for Ghanaian students and proposed expanding cooperation in the areas of agriculture and energy.

Ablakwa, while welcoming the announcement of a Venezuelan Embassy in Accra, assured that Ghana would facilitate all necessary procedures.

In return, he promised that Ghana would establish a mission in Venezuela in the future.

The lawmaker also expressed appreciation to Venezuela for the scholarship offers and proposed cultural exchanges for Venezuelan students.
