Freezy Macbones Withdraws From Olympic Games Qualifiers

Boxer Seth Gyimah, nicknamed Freezy Macbones has withdrawn from Ghana’s amateur squad for the Olympic Games qualifiers.

All 12 Black Bombers including Macbone who represented Ghana in Dakar, Senegal to seek qualifications for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris lost in September 2023.

Macbone in the course lost his middleweight bout to Senegalese opponent Seydou Konate to his dismay and it was thought that he would continue with the Bombers in the February 2024 qualifiers, however, the boxer appears disinterested.

In a Tweet, he expressed his gratitude to the Ghana National Boxing Team for the rare chance he was offered and announced his decision to opt out of the qualifiers.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all members of the Ghana National Boxing Team for giving me the opportunity to represent my country. However, I will no longer be competing in the Qualifiers for the Olympic Games 2024.”

He now intends focusing on grooming himself as a professional boxer.

I have decided to spend the rest of my career developing as a professional boxer and focusing on promoting great events with Macbones Promotions.”
