Nsoatre Violence:10 Kotoko and Nsoatreman Players Charged

Four Asante Kotoko players and six Nsoatreman FC players have been given until Wednesday to respond to charges of unsporting behaviours they displayed during the game over the weekend.

A fisticuff broke out between some players from the two teams in the second half when Nsoatreman hosted the Premier League giants at Nsoatre on February 2.

All 10 players are facing charges for breaching Section 12(1)(j) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Code, 2019.

“It is alleged that these players engaged in unsporting behaviour during the Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman.”

The players are Stephen Diyou (Nsoatreman FC), Mohammed Camara (Asante Kotoko), Justice Blay (Asante Kotoko), Frank Dongballe (Nsoatreman FC), Abdul Rahaman, Mohammed (Nsoatreman FC) and Walid Neymar Fuseini (Nsoatreman FC).

The rest are Gilbani O’Neil Ndongani Samba (Asante Kotoko), Andrews Ntim Manu (Asante Kotoko), Mohammed Issaka (Nsoatreman FC) and Eric Osei Bonsu (Nsoatreman FC).

In a related development, both clubs have been charged for failing to control their players, an action that led to the brawl on the pitch while Nsoatreman has been banned from hosting their home games at the Nana Kronamansah Park until further notice.

The series of violence both on and off the pitch left one Kotoko supporter dead, others injured and damage to some equipment.
