NAPO Under NIB Investigation
Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as Napo has revealed he is under investigation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
In an interview that has since gone viral, he stated that he was being investigated over his stewardship at the Ministry of Education between 2017 and 2021.
“No one knows but I have been to the NIB. I was invited to render accounts. I have been there twice,” he told the blogging site 1957.
He revealed that he will be reporting himself to the Bureau in subsequent days as the investigations continue.
The former Energy Minister who appeared unperturbed about the development acknowledged that it was not the first time a politician was being held accountable by investigative bodies in the country.
He therefore used the occasion to urge active politicians to be guided by integrity when they get political appointments as he drew attention to the fact that accountability was inevitable.
“Those of us who are dedicated politicians must bear in mind that time changes. You might be in power today but you will be out someday. If God puts you in government, you must think twice in every action you take because accountability is inevitable.”
