4 Dead, 17 Injured In Accra–Kumasi Highway Accident

Four have perished while 17 have sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident at Asuboi along the Accra–Kumasi highway.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the crash resulted from the burst of a Sprinter bus’s rear tyre.
“A Kumasi-to-Accra Sprinter bus suffered a rear tyre burst at high speed, causing the driver to lose control,” it said in a statement.
It added, “Seventeen passengers sustained injuries, 11 males and 6 females, while four others, three men and a woman, died on the spot.”
Responding to the accident was a crew from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station.
The injured were transported to Suhum Government Hospital, while the deceased was taken to the hospital morgue.
The crew also ensured the partially damaged bus was cleared from the road to facilitate traffic flow.
