Ghana, Zimbabwe Discuss Border Security and Regional Cooperation

The Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration in charge of Command Post and Operations, Mr Faisal Disu, has underscored the importance of secure borders as a foundation for national sovereignty and citizen protection.

He made the remarks during an engagement with a 22-member delegation from the Zimbabwe Defence Force Joint Command and Staff Course 39 at the Ghana Immigration Service National Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday.

The Zimbabwean delegation is in Ghana on an official study tour and met with senior officers of the GIS to hold strategic discussions on border security, regional cooperation, national security enhancement and economic development.

The dialogue brought together heads and representatives from key GIS departments including Intelligence, International Relations, Border Management and Operations.

Key participants included DCOI Justice Amevor, Head of Operations; DCOI Emmanuel Laryea Kwei, Head of Border Management; and Brigadier General Christopher Sibanda, who led the Zimbabwean delegation.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by both countries to share best practices and strengthen collaboration on migration management and security across the region.
