Trapped Truck Driver Rescued From Accident Wreckage

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have rescued a trapped truck driver from the wreckage of an accident.
The accident at Adukrom Waterworks Junction in the Okere District happened around 23:30 hours on August 22, 2025.
According to the Service, a KIA MIGHTY II with registration number GN 3931-18 reportedly lost control due to clutch failure while descending the Adukrom-Somanya road.
“The Akropong Fire Station received the distress call at 2319hrs and promptly dispatched a rescue team led by ASTNO Jerry Kugblenu.”
The team successfully extricated and freed 47-year-old Ebenezer Nii Okai Gborbitey, and handed him over to the Akuapem North Ambulance Service for medical care.
The GNFS said about 50 bags of cement and other construction materials were destroyed.
“The prompt response by the Akropong Fire Station ensured the driver’s safety despite the challenging conditions.”
