All Mining Equipment Must be Registered By August 18- Muntaka
The Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has directed that all mining equipment be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) by August 18.
The registration exercise will take place from August 2, 2025, he said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The general public, especially those who use mining machinery, are advised to take note and comply with the directive.”
The Asawase MP warned that mining equipment that remains unregistered after this deadline will be confiscated by the State.
He further affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring internal security and the maintenance of law and order in the country.
The move comes as illegal mining activities remain on the ascendancy in recent times to the detriment of forest reserves and water bodies.
