Kotoko Extend Justice Blay Contract

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and midfielder Justice Blay have agreed on a one-year contract extension deal.

It comes after the club shot down speculations suggesting they had proposed a six-month contract extension to the player.

Blay’s contract was due to expire at the end of this month; however, the contract extension means he will stay until 2025.

“The 31-year-old’s current contract was due to expire at the end of the month but has put pen to paper for a further year with an option to renew for another year,” a statement from the Club said on Monday.

The player is willing to prove himself worthy of the extension as he has pledged to work harder.

“I am happy to have renewed my stay. Kotoko means everything to me and my family. I appreciate the support of everyone in the club, the head coach and the entire management team.”

“And like I have done before, I will continue to do even better,” he told the club’s media.

Blay first joined Kotoko on loan in the 2019/2020 season from Medeama SC during which won the hearts of fans with his sterling performance and subsequently made a permanent move to the Kumasi-based club in 2022 on a two-year deal.
