A/R: Two in Police Grips For Robbery and Carjacking

Two suspects are in police custody after they allegedly attacked their victims and made off with valuables at Mpatasie in the Ashanti Region.
According to police preliminary investigations, the suspects and their accomplices attacked two occupants of an unregistered silver Hyundai Tucson (DV-5357-Z) on November 7, 2025.
They robbed them of GHC120,000, three mobile phones, identity cards, work tools, and other personal belongings before escaping with the vehicle.
The two were impounded by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on November 8 along the Ofankor-St. John’s stretch of the Accra-Nawam Highway.
In an attempt to flee, the police opened fire.
“One sustained a gunshot wound and the other minor injuries; both are currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.”
The police also retrieved the stolen car, GHC5,900 cash, a customised number plate marked “Congo-1-24”, and other exhibits.
“The recovered items have been secured at the Police Headquarters, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.”
The suspects have been identified as Issaka Jamal, aged 30, and Kwadwo Badu, aged 40.
“The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-led operations and ensuring that all individuals involved in the robbery are arrested and brought to justice.”
