W/R: Two Arrested For Tragic Stabbing of 20-year-old
The Police in the Western Central Region have arrested two suspects in connection with the stabbing to death of a 20-year-old.
The tragic incident transpired at Asankrangwa Education Area on August 17, 2025, when a group of people, including the two suspects, chased the deceased and allegedly stabbed him multiple times.
“The attack is reported to have stemmed from a previous misunderstanding between the deceased and one of the suspects, Kwasi Opong,” a police statement recounted.
“Swift police action led to the arrest of suspects Kwasi Opong, age 36 years and William Francis Osei, age 23 years, who are currently in police custody, assisting in the investigation.”
It noted that efforts are underway to apprehend one suspect at large.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.
“The Western Central Regional Police Command assures the public that all persons involved in this heinous crime will be brought to justice and urges anyone with relevant information to contact the Asankrangwa police,” it noted.
