World Bank Assesses Drainage System In Ashanti Region

In the quest to address the lingering drainage challenges in the Ashanti Region, the World Bank and the Ministry of Works and Housing have inspected the drainage system.
The aim was to assess and put in place suitable measures to strengthen flood prevention.
The team paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, on August 19, 2025.
“A combined team from the World Bank and the Ministry of Works and Housing, currently in the Ashanti Region to assess drainage systems, called on the Ashanti Regional Minister.
“Their mission is to evaluate the situation on the ground as part of a drainage improvement project aimed at strengthening flood prevention measures in the region.”
The Regional Coordinating Council indicated that the initiative forms part of H.E. the President’s broader urbanisation agenda, which seeks to build resilient, safe, and well-planned communities for the people.
