I Will Honour You If I Have the Opportunity- Otumfuo to Former KNUST VCs
The Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed his desire to honour all past Vice Chancellors.
The King of the Asante Kingdom is only awaiting the opportunity to appreciate their efforts, he said during a send-off party for Prof Kwasi Obiri Danso, who has landed an appointment as the High Commissioner of Ghana to India.
His Majesty recognises that each of them has left their mark through their contribution to the architecture of the institution.
At the event, which had past and present VCs, Otumfuo said he will stop at nothing to return the honour done to the institution he ceremonially heads.
“It’s a pleasure to see that I have so many professors. I realise that I am blessed to have these people who are holding my university together. All that you {past VCs and Provosts} have done to make this university one of the best universities in Ghana and Africa, I thank you. If I have any opportunity, I will honour you like I’m honouring him.”
The event was hosted by the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on October 5, 2025, and graced by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and his wife.
