W//R: Rifle-armed Travellers Arrested on Bus
Three individuals are in police grips after they were found with an SMG rifle and 21 rounds of ammunition in a Grand Bird Bus on Wednesday.
The suspects identified as Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab were on board the vehicle with registration number AS 4431-22 which was en route to Wassa Akropong.
“The Western Central Regional Police Command on 30th April 2025 arrested three (3) suspects for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition at Bowodie-Wassa Akropong in the Western Region,” a statement by the police reported.
According to the police, Hakeem Imoro in whose possession the firearm was found claimed it was given to him by his boss for safekeeping during interrogation.
“The three suspects are currently in custody, assisting police investigations and will be put before the court.”
