T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS Names Dormitory after Asantehene’s Mother

T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS) has named a dormitory after Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem, the 13th Queen of the Asante Kingdom, who is also the mother of the reigning King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The magnificent facility was commissioned by the Asantehene on March 26, 2026, when His Majesty graced the Speech and Prize-Giving Day of the school.
The “Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem Honour Roll Hall” was financed by Mr Alagbe Olusholam Lutherking, an old student of the 1969 batch.

The facility was constructed as part of the 75th Anniversary of the institution.
Present at the event were Dr Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister; Alhajj Maulvi Noor Mohammed Bin Salih, Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana; Hon. Kofi Obiri Yeboah, MP for Subin; Alhajj Abdul-Wahab Issah, Deputy Ameer and others.
Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II reigned from 1977 to 2016.
The current Asantehene is the youngest of Her Majesty’s five children.
