Suspects In Fomena NDC Election Disturbance Found Guilty
Four persons have been found guilty for damaging properties during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency elections at Fomena in the Ashanti region.
They are Kingford Anku, Adjei Evans, Francis Amoah and Akwesi Aquah.
The four reportedly destroyed chairs and other properties belonging to the Nana Abu Bonsra Primary School where the Adansi North NDC Constituency election was held on Sunday October 23, 2022.
A statement from the police recounted, “ As the ballots were being counted, the suspects destroyed chairs and other properties belonging to the Nana Abu Bonsra Primary School where the election was held”.
They were arraigned in court today where the court found them guilty and handed down a fine of GHC6,000 to each of them or a three-month imprisonment in default.
In a related development, the police arrested two persons for allegedly engaging in disturbances that damaged some properties of the party on Sunday, October 23 at the Anyinam constituency in the Eastern Region.
The suspects have been identified as Patrick Anyimadu and Millicent Pennin.
“Suspects Patrick Anyimadu and Millicent Pennin are currently in Police custody assisting in the investigation while efforts are underway to get the other accomplices arrested to face justice.”
