Student Nurses and Midwives Start Licensing Exam
Twenty-three thousand and thirty-seven student nurses and midwives are commencing the online Licensing Examination today, August 2, 2024, in accordance with Section 55(g) of the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act 2013, (Act 857).
The exam will be sat in 91 centres across the country by all students who were admitted into Nursing and Midwifery Training Institutions accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC).
These candidates have successfully gone through their respective training programmes in accordance with the regulatory standards of the Council.
A statement issued by the NMC on Friday said the licensing Examination of the N&MC is a gatekeeping mechanism that assures the public that all licensed Nurses and Midwives are competent to provide safe and efficient nursing and midwifery services.
The Council assured all candidates of its “unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and fairness in the examination process”.
“Your success is our priority and we are leaving no stone unturned to guarantee a credible and transparent assessment.”
Meanwhile, the candidates were urged to uphold integrity and high standards in the examination and avoid dishonest schemes.
“Beware of fraudulent individuals seeking to exploit you with false promises of exam shortcuts or leaked materials. Report any such suspicious activity to the Council immediately. The N&MC is also urging all Invigilators and Examiners to conduct themselves with utmost professionalism and integrity during the Licensing Examinations. Any compromise on examination standards will not be tolerated.”
The examination will end on August 21, 2024.
