Stop Using Your Brother’s Private Jet for International Trips- Franklin Cudjoe to Mahama

The founder and CEO of the think tank IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to stop using his brother’s private jet for international trips.

He finds the act to be a double standard on the part of the President after restraining his appointees from travelling.

Franklin took to Facebook on Thursday to add his voice to the condemnation of the act, which he deems to defy the public code of conduct for public office.

“Mr President, with due respect, you cannot be asking your appointees not to travel without providing economic justification, and then you jump on your brother’s plane without providing us reasons why you think it is the only safe, available and cheaper airline.”

“This is the second time I have heard about using Mr Ibrahim Mahama’s plane, and you may be earning back your own “dead goat” syndrome, which was last rejected by many. Please stop.”

He recalled the president’s commendable decision to fly commercial prior to his recent trip.

President Mahama used his brother’s jet for a trip to South Korea earlier this week.

He is in the Asian country on a five-day working visit and is expected to return this weekend.
