SSNIT Exposes ₵1,200 Fake Pensioner Bonus Advert

The Management of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has exposed a fake scheme promising pensioners a ₵1,200 average bonus.

An advert on TikTok under the handle GHNN News claims that the Trust will pay an average bonus of GHS1,200 to pensioners in August 2025.

“We wish to state that this claim is false and misleading,” SSNIT said in a statement on July 22, 2025.

Members of the public have therefore been advised to disregard the said information.

It added, “We urge the public to kindly cross-check information from trusted sources before sharing. Management is taking steps to report the misleading post to the appropriate platform administrators.”
