Spurs Players To Refund Cost Of Match Tickets To Fans
Tottenham Hotspur players are seeking to appease their fans after their humiliating defeat against Newcastle on Sunday.
In a joint statement a day after their interim coach was sacked for the poor performance which awarded them a 6:1 defeat, the players said they understand the anger and frustration of their fans.
“We know words aren’t enough in situations like this but believe in us, a defeat like this hurts,” part of the press statement posted on the Club’s social media pages read.
On Sunday, Spurs conceded 5 goals in the first 21 minutes of the game at St James’ Park.
The game ended in a 6:1 defeat for the Spurs.
As a result, the management of the Club sacked its interim head coach Cristian Stellini and his coaching staff.
A club statement from Spurs said, “Sunday’s performance against Newcastle was wholly unacceptable. It was devastating to see. We can look at many reasons why it happened and whilst myself, the Board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine.”
The team is now being headed by Ryan Mason, a former interim coach for the club.
From today’s press release, it can be deduced that the players are willing to appease their fans with the reimbursement of the cost of tickets for fans who attended the game last Sunday.
“We appreciate your support home and away, and with this in mind, we would like to reimburse fans with the cost of their match ticket from St James’ Park.
That’s not all. The players have promised to give their all to deliver to their fans the needed result when they meet up with Manchester United on Thursday.
