Special Prosecutor “Hopes” For A Productive 2022
The Office of Special Prosecutor has said it is looking forward to a productive year in 2022.
Wishing the general public a happy holiday ahead of yuletide, the OSP reiterated its intention to strip off corruption from the country.
“Help us build a better Ghana, help us overcome corruption, join us in the fight”, it posted on Facebook.
In a caption, the OSP relayed its mandate and hoped for productivity in the oncoming year.
“We prevent, investigate, prosecute and recover the illicit wealth. We look forward to a productive 2022.”
The Special Prosecutor (SP), Mr. Kissi Agyebeng, during the commemoration of International Anti-corruption Day noted that the allocation to his office in the 2022 budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government was not enough to cover the office’s expenses.
However, the Special Prosecutor says as part of efforts to prevent corruption, the office will from January 2022 carry out an anti-corruption risk assessment on all major government contracts as well as the publication of a corruption perception index on all public institutions.
So far, 31 cases before them have been reviewed and are being investigated, the SP said.
