Sompa Presenter Arrested over Minor Sexual Assault Confession

A presenter with Sompa FM in Kumasi identified as Nana Poku Piesie has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he confessed on live show how for many years he engaged in statutory rape.

His confession went viral sparking public sentiments with celebrities including Sarkodie and Lydia Forson calling for his arrest.

In a statement on July 16, the Ghana Police Service said he was in its custody assisting in investigations.

“The Ghana Police Service today 16th July 2024, arrested suspect, Nana Poku Piesie alias Kwabena, who was seen in a viral video claiming to have had sexual intercourse with a minor. The suspect is in custody assisting police investigations.”

The police also assured that he would be made to face the full rigours of the law.

The presenter during his show, used his unpleasant and distasteful experience with the victim- whom he said was the daughter of a wealthy man at Dormaa in the Bono Region while he worked as a teacher- to back the efficacy of the law of karma in his submission.

He confessed to taking advantage of the 14-year-old being her tutor while offering her extra lessons to pop her cherry and advancing into an amorous relationship that lasted until she graduated from Senior High School (SHS).

His past is now hunting him down as he said he suspects her teenage daughter is engaged in a similar relationship with her teacher.

However, his disgusting experince has been criticized by actress Lydia Forson just like many others who called him a paedophile.

“If I speak on this video now, you will say I hate men. You will ignore that this man openly bragged about sleeping with a 14-year-old on air. You will instead focus on my outrage; or make it the 14-year-olds fault for allowing this.”

In response to her tweet, rapper Sarkodie reacted, “I sense no hate here he should not be walking around freely.”
