Shut Down Directorate for Prophecies; Franklin Cudjoe to Mahama

President and Chief Executive Officer of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to shut down the Directorate for Prophecies and Spiritual Activities.

The creation of the Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations directorate, headed by Elvis Afriyie Ankra, came to public attention a couple of days ago following the tragic helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region, which claimed eight lives, including two Ministers.

In a Facebook post, the Franklin highlighted the negative impact the office would have on the President if it remained operational.

He wrote, “Mr. President, please shut down the directorate for prophecies and Spiritual Activities. Your mental health is paramount.”

The Directorate is purposed at receiving and reviewing prophecies from spiritual leaders in the country and beyond.

“Any prophecy or spiritual insight of a national nature, especially those with implications for high-profile political leaders, governance, national security, or public stability, should be formally relayed to the Office of the Presidential Envoy for urgent review and appropriate escalation,” the statement issued on August 10 said.
