Seven of Nine Hijacked Forest Reserves Retaken- Gov’t

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, has announced that seven of the country’s forest reserves which had been hijacked by thugs have successfully been retaken.
At a presser on March 19, he said the success was achieved through collaborative efforts with the security agencies.
“I announced in Parliament that thugs had taken completely over nine of our forest reserves. I am happy to announce that with the cooperation of the security agencies, we have taken back seven of these nine forest reserves.”
According to him, efforts are underway to secure the remaining two reserves as well.
“We are working very hard to ensure that the other two are taken. We are close to taking over our forest reserves. We are working day and night thanks to the support of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Defence Ministry.”
The MP for Ellembelle Constituency assured Ghanaians of protecting the country’s natural resources.
“We are making progress and with the support of the people of Ghana, we will continue to ensure that mining is done sustainably and legally to the benefit of our people.”
