Serwaa Nyarko, Afia Kobi SHSs Introduce Heads To Asantehemaa
Management members of Serwaa Nyarko Senior High School and Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem Girls’ Senior High School have for the first time introduced their heads to the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The delegation was led by Asante Mamponghemaa, Nana Agyakoma Difie II.
Their visit to the Manhyia Palace was on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, which marked the third Awukudae of the year.
The new heads- all female- were introduced to the Queen by Nana Agyakoma Difie II.
Mrs Silvia Newton was introduced as the headmistress for Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem Girls’ SHS, whereas, Esther Gyasi Sarpong was introduced as the headmistress of Serwaa Nyarko SHS.
Serwaa Nyarko SHS was established in 2004 and named after the 12th queen of the kingdom, Nana Serwaa Nyarko.
On the other hand, Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem Girls’ SHS, formerly Trabuom Secondary School, was named after the 13th queen of the Asante Kingdom by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Other members of the delegation included assistant headmistresses and other management members of the schools.
The Queen appreciated the visit.
