SDA Pastor Calls for Caution on Roads During Festive Season

The President of the Asante Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA), Pastor Jonathan Owusu, has called on drivers and the general public to prioritize safety during the Christmas season to prevent accidents.

Speaking in an interview during the 110th-anniversary celebration of the Agona Asamang SDA Church, Pastor Owusu cautioned drivers against operating vehicles under the influence of drugs or alcohol, emphasizing that such behaviors increase the risk of accidents.

He also advised those visiting tourist attractions, including beaches, to remain vigilant and prioritize their safety.

The District Pastor of the Asamang SDA Church, Pastor Charles Acheamfor Duah, highlighted the church’s contributions to community development, including the establishment of a hospital and other social projects.

He noted that the church has several initiatives in progress and appealed for support, particularly as some members serve in government and other influential positions.

The anniversary, themed “Hundred and Ten Years of Adventism: God Our Stronghold,” also underscored the need for additional support to renovate school buildings, construct new school blocks, and provide access to clean water for the community.

Baffour Oduro Boahen, Yonsohene, commended the Asamang SDA Church for its developmental projects, including the hospital, school, and nursing and midwifery training school, which have significantly improved the Agona Asamang area and the Ashanti Region as a whole.

He highlighted how these initiatives have created opportunities and boosted incomes in the community.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Asante Asamanghene, Asante Asamanghemaa Nana Adwoa Kyeiwaa Boaduwaa II, sub-chiefs, and SDA pastors.

In her remarks, Asante Asamanghemaa urged the public to exercise extra caution during the Christmas season to avoid accidents and ensure a safe and joyful celebration.
