Santasi–Bekwai Road Construction to be Completed in July- Project Engineers Inform Mayor
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has announced the resumption of work on the Santasi–Bekwai road in the Ashanti Region, with a projected completion date of July 2026.
The mayor, Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, visited the site on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, following the release of funds by the government.
“Engineers indicated that both stretches are expected to be completed by the end of July 2026,” the Assembly said in a Facebook post.
The KMA boss also inspected works on the Asokwa Interchange–Ahodwo Roundabout project, which has been ongoing since December 2025, with visible progress on site.
“Once completed, the projects will reduce traffic congestion, boost economic activities, and improve emergency access to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.”
The Mayor commended the contractors and urged them to adhere strictly to project timelines, assuring them of the Assembly’s support to address any challenges promptly.
Meanwhile evacuation along the Asokwa–Ahodwo stretch is currently ongoing, and affected occupants have been urged to cooperate fully for uninterrupted work.
