Sam George Announces Special Data Bundles on Five Holidays
The government says a holiday-tailored data bundle offer agreement with the telecommunication companies in the country will see customers enjoying special packages on five holidays each year.
These special packages will be offered on five public holidays.
They include Independence Day, May Day, Founders Day, Republic Day and Farmers Day.
“We will have uniformed data offers across all the networks,” the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, announced on April 9 at a press conference.
Ghanaians were offered a 6GB Data Bundle at ¢10 on Independence Day on March 6, 2025.
This was an adjustment from the 1GB or 3GB offerings on holidays at ¢10.
Meanwhile, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to making internet data bundles reliable and affordable.
“The Ministry is poised to make even more significant progress toward a sustainable plan to ensure reliable and affordable internet for all.”
“If we find any incident of price tampering by any of the telecom operators, be rest assured, the regulator will impose very stiff fines. We have a regulator that is on top of their beat and will not tolerate anything that shortchanges the Ghanaian people.”
