Rotary President Francesco Arezzo Visits Manhyia Palace

The President of Rotary International, Francesco Arezzo, has visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Accompanied by his wife, Anna Maria Criscione, the visit took place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, as part of his working visit to Ghana.
The delegation was received by Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene, who represented Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, as His Majesty is currently out of the country on a leave of absence.
The delegation included the Governor of the District 9104, Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe, Incoming Governor Frank Owusu Debrah, Past Governor Jeffery Afful, Past Governor David Osei Amankwah Junior, and others.
Sharing Values
In his address, Arezzo outlined the mission of the global association in championing peace, fighting illiteracy and poverty, helping people get access to clean water and sanitation, fighting diseases such as polio and championing environmental protection.

He acknowledged that these align with the vision of the King and his non-governmental organisation- the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation.
“We have the same value in service. We have the same values in integrity. We have the same values in respect of diversity. We work on school, hunger and peace. We share the same values and could have a good future.”
Forging Deeper Collab
The Rotary International President also expressed his readiness and commitment to a deeper collaboration with the Otumfuo Foundation to advance their vision and cause.
“We can work together and solve relevant problems of humanity. We want to work closely with your foundation and do things for communities in Ghana. This is my wish for the future.”
Gift
Meanwhile, he presented a present he brought from Sicily, Italy, to extend felicitations to the King.
The gift, he said, is a symbol of unity, abundance and good life.

The delegation also presented a plaque with their inscribed values to the Palace for display.
Commendation
Speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, Baffour said the humanitarian efforts of the group have not gone unnoticed.
He stated that the footprint of their impact is felt around the country and thereby commended them.

“On behalf of Ghanaians, Otumfuo says he thanks you and encourages you to do more. He prays that you get the strength and resources to help both the Asante Kingdom and Ghana. He wishes you well in all your endeavours.”
Baffour also presented a gift to immortalise the visit.
