Roma Sack Coach Daniele De Rossi
Serie A side AS Roma have sacked Jose Mourinho replacement Daniele De Rossi after eight months.
The Club’s decision is geared towards steering the team to “promptly resume the desired path, at a time when the season is still at its beginning”.
His departure was confirmed in a press statement on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, saying, “AS Roma announces that it has relieved Daniele De Rossi of his position as head coach of the First Team.”
Roma intend to communicate technical guidance for the team soon.
Meanwhile, they thanked the former player for his service.
“To Daniele, who will always be at home in the Giallorossi Club, a heartfelt thank you for the work done in recent months with passion and dedication.”
De Rossi took over the management of the first team in January and his contract was due to end in 2027; however, the unsatisfactory output by the team in the new season called for his dismissal.
After four games, Roma is yet to record a win. Their opening game against Genoa ended in a 1-1 draw, 0-0 against Juventus, a 1-2 defeat to Empoli and 0-0 against Cagliari.
