Reports of Prosper Narteh Ogum Returning to Kotoko NOT True

Asante Kotoko have dismissed reports linking former head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum with a possible third spell at the Baba Yara Stadium, insisting the stories are entirely false and unfounded.

Karim Zito resigned from his position as head coach just over a week ago after enduring a run of disappointing outcomes, including the FA Cup eviction on penalties and inconsistent results in the Ghana Premier League that sparked widespread calls for change among the Porcupine faithful.

With no permanent replacement yet in place, assistant coach Prince Owusu has assumed interim duties and led the club to a painful defeat to their eternal rivals Hearts of Oak over the weekend.

The educationist-turned-coach previously delivered two notable spells with Asante Kotoko in 2021/22 and 2023-2025, famously clinching the Ghana Premier League title in 2022 during his debut tenure before exiting amid later challenges.

However, Opemsuo Radio can exclusively confirm there is no basis for a return by Prosper Narteh Ogum, as management have neither discussed nor contacted him regarding the vacancy.

The Porcupine Warriors currently sit outside the top four on the league log and will be eager to claim full points in their upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture against Young Apostles to spark a resurgence and steady the ship under the interim arrangement.

Prosper Narteh Ogum is currently the head coach of Ghana U-17 men national team, Black Starlets, and are in camp at the moment preparing for the 2026 CAF U-17 Youth Championship which comes in Morocco in April.
