Report: Suspected Thief Lynched To Death
The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has reported that a young man in his twenties suspected to be a thief has been lynched to death by an angry mob at Kongo in the Upper East region.
According to the report, the young man together with his colleague attacked a man with a cutlass, scissors and knife near the Kongo Catholic Church.
“They took his belongings and went into a teak forest to escape, but luck eluded him after the victim raised an alarm. Many youths came out and gave them a hot chase”, the report said.
The deceased was caught in the process, tied with a rope against a metal barricade on the Bolga-Bawku road and lynched, it reported.
The other suspect, however, managed to escape.
“The case was later reported to the Nangodi Police, who deposited the body in a morgue. However, no arrest has been made yet”, GBC reported.
