Record Label didn’t Make my Life Easy – Cojo Rae
In a recent interview on Kumasefie with Mr Black on July 15, Cojo Rae, the talented music sensation, revealed that record labels do not guarantee an easy path for new artistes. Despite being associated with a record label, Cojo emphasized that success still requires dedication and relentless effort.
“Record label did not make my life easy. It still requires hard work. But when the time is ripe, you will succeed with or without a record label,” he stated confidently.
According to him, music is all about “vibes,” and artistes should focus on creating what people love.
“I record all kinds of genres, but my first was drill in 2021. When I am writing music, I don’t look at genres. I just consider the vibe. For instance, if it is sorrowful, I may choose highlife. I go with the vibe. I did drill because that’s what was trending,” he explained.
In response to whether he has encountered issues with contracts and being cheated as an artiste, Cojo Rae clarified that he does not face such problems. He credits this to open discussions with his team and family members when handling contracts.
He revealed that his motivation to pursue music as a career was sparked by the overwhelming appreciation he received from people for his freestyles on social media.
