RCEE Disappointed For Missing Out on TGMA Nominations Despite “AGENDA” Hit

Ghanaian singer-songwriter RCEE has expressed his disappointment after “AGENDA” missed out on the 2026 Telecel Music Awards nomination.
He was expecting the song which gained wide traction to get the Best Highlife Song nomination while he made it into the Best New Artiste category.
In a statement, his Management wrote, “’AGENDA’ became more than a record; it grew into a movement. It connected across age groups, entered conversations, shaped playlists, and helped push a new sound forward within the highlife space. The impact it made is something we are incredibly proud of, and we remain grateful to everyone who supported and believed in the vision. It would be disingenuous not to acknowledge our disappointment with the recent awards nominations.”
“Awards are not everything, but they matter. They document progress and inspire the next wave of creatives. When music that actively pushes boundaries and connects deeply with audiences is overlooked, it presents an opportunity for reflection not just for us, but for the entire ecosystem.”
He called for more transparent criteria, broader listening panels, and a deeper engagement with the scheme.
“This is not a statement rooted in bitterness, but in belief in the future of Ghanaian music, belief in fairness, and belief that every generation deserves to be seen and heard accurately.”
