Ras Mubarak Instigates Ghanaians Against SIM Re-registration Despite Deadline Extension

Former Member of Parliament for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak has resumed his virtual campaign against the SIM registration exercise underway in the country.

“Please and please, if u haven’t re-registered, don’t bother. Don’t endanger your life”, he advised in a Facebook post.

Today’s reaction against the national exercise was triggered by news about the extension of the exercise to July 31 because the Ministry has to update the SIM Registration App for the registration of diplomats and also develop a Self-Service SIM Registration App to facilitate registration of SIM cards for Ghanaians resident abroad.

Mubarak hijacked his Facebook page with the message, “It’s interesting they can now develop an APP for Diplomats and Ghanaians living abroad but can’t do same for the ordinary Ghanaian? In their naive minds the ordinary Ghanaian is docile and will obey any unlawful order.

“They are more afraid of Diplomats and afraid of Ghanaians abroad (who won’t entertain unlawful orders because they are enlightened). They think the ordinary Ghanaian will take a slap and turn the other cheek”.

Ras Mubarak wants Ghanaians to portray themselves as citizens rather than spectators.

“Don’t re-register your sim. The exercise is illegal, and you will endanger your life. They can’t block your sim”, he averred.
