Raphael Dwamena Goes Home Today
The final funeral rite and burial service of former Ghana International Raphael Dwamena is underway at Adjiriganor Astro Turf in Accra.
The 28-year-old fell to death in the early minutes of a game between his team Egnatia and Partizani in Albiana on Saturday, October 11, 2023, when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
He is said to have suffered a cardiac arrest in the 23rd minute of the match and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Kavaja hospital later.
At the time of his death, Dwamena was the top scorer in Albania’s Superior League with nine goals in 11 appearances in the ongoing season.
The striker represented Ghana nine times and scored two goals.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has agreed to assist the family with the final funeral rites for the ex-national star.
