Programme Outline For King’s Baton Relay As It Kicks Off At Jubilee House On Friday

The King’s Baton will be in Ghana from October 3 to 7, 2025, the Commonwealth Sports-Ghana has said.

The relay is part of the countdown to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

It will kick off at the Jubilee House this Friday.

“The Commonwealth Sports -Ghana invites the public to join in the excitement and support the King’s Baton Relay as it makes its way through Accra. Let’s come together to promote sports development, community engagement, and environmental sustainability,” it encouraged in a statement.

 Below is the outline:
-October 3: The baton relay will kick off at the Flagstaff House, with His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama, flagging off the event. The relay will proceed through the principal streets of Accra, showcasing the city’s vibrant spirit and Commonwealth values

-October 4: The baton will make its way to the Executive Fitness Club, Aburi Mountain, Aburi Girls Senior High School, Adonteng Senior High School and the Paramount Chief of Aburi, Nana Otobuo Gyan Kwasi, highlighting the importance of sports, culture and community engagement.

-October 5: In line with the Commonwealth’s theme of environmental sustainability, a plastic waste collection exercise will be held at the Independence Square beach. This initiative aims to promote a cleaner and neater environment for all

-October 7: A thrilling sports event is scheduled to take place at Air Force Base involving Osu Manhean Basic School, Accra High Senior High School, and others. This event will bring together athletes, students, and the community to celebrate sports and Commonwealth values
