Prioritise Precautionary Fire Measures- Ashanti Regional Minister to Residents

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has urged residents, particularly traders, to prioritise fire safety measures this dry season.
This was contained in a statement issued following a fire outbreak at the Sofoline magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality on Sunday night.
“As we move through this dry season, I also encourage everyone, especially traders, shop owners, and households, to take fire prevention seriously,” a part of the statementurged.
He encouraged effective electrical wiring and appliances while urging the public to avoid overloading sockets, handling cooking and open flames with care, and keeping flammable materials away from heat sources, and reporting any fire outbreak immediately to the Ghana National Fire Service.
He also encouraged turning off electrical devices when they are not in use.
Traders are counting their losses after the fire reportedly destroyed 27 cars and 22 spare parts shops.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
