It was all joy, merry-making, jubilation and excitement last Friday, 20th January 2022 at the Frante community in the Ejura Sekyere-Dumase District in the Ashanti Region when a beautiful, young, ambitious and development-oriented lady was installed as Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen) in the town.
In the midst of the rites required for the installation of a new Nkosuohemaa, Chiefs, Queens, family, friends, and observers were all dressed in their stunning traditional attire.
The installation ceremony was massively attended by various dignitaries including the Otumfuo Brempong, Nana Amankwah Otuo Amponsem, CEO of COA Herbal Center, Prof Samuel Atto Duncan, Chiefs, Queen Mothers, Actors and Actresses, and residents of the Frante community.
Speaking after her installation, Princess Duncan now to be known and addressed as Nana Akua Ahenesima, who has already spearheaded some developmental projects, pledged her unwavering commitment to the development of the Frante community.
One other thing that is dear to her heart is the enviable Asante culture and tradition. She called on the people to revisit abandoned traditions which she believes define people, unite them and promote social cohesion and a sense of belonging that is needed for development.
Nana Akua Ahenesima expressed deep-felt gratitude to God. She was also grateful to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom, the Otumfuo Brempong, Nana Amankwah Otuo Amponsem, the Chiefs and people of Frante community, actors/actresses and the general public.
Prof Samuel Atto Duncan, father of the new Nkosuohemaa in his address said he was elated having seen her daughter installed as the Nkosuohemaa to contribute her quota to improve living standards in the community. He however called on the residents to rally behind his daughter since she cannot do it all alone.
On his part, Otumfuo Brempong, Nana Amankwah Otuo Amponsem, heaped praises on Nana Akua Ahenesima for devoting her resources despite her age to improve the developmental status of the Frante community. He called on other young men and women to learn from her and support the developmental agenda of their respective communities.
