President Mahama Appoints New CEO For Tamale Teaching Hospital
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Abubakar Bawah Abdulai, as the new Chief Executive Officer of Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), according to reports.
Dr. Bawah Abdulai until this appointment was the University of Development Studies Health Director.
It comes after the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, dismissed Dr Adam Atiku from the position upon a visit to the medical facility in the Northern Region on April 22.
This was on the back of the death of a patient, Bavug Salim, who allegedly passed away due to the unavailability of a functional ventilator at the facility.
The Minority on the Health Committee of Parliament, the Ghana Medical Association and other Ghanaians condemned the action of the Minister, calling for its reversal.
