Pooley’s Death: Bechem United Offers ₵100K to Anyone Who Helps Arrest Assailant

Bechem United has stepped forward with an offer of GH₵100,000 to any individual who would be able to provide a clue to arrest the one who stabbed Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong known as Pooley at Nsoatre.
In a statement condemning the incident, the Ahafo-based club said it was willing to do its quota to ensure the perpetrator is arrested.
“Violence has no place in football and as a club, we are committed to ensuring that justice is served. Now that the identity of the perpetrator has been confirmed, it is imperative that all stakeholders come together to assist in his swift apprehension.
“The management of Bechem United FC, led by Dr Kingsley Owusu Achau, has placed a GHC 100,000 reward for anyone with credible information leading to the arrest of the suspect.”
The Hunters are appalled by the tragic incident which transpired on February 2 after a game between Asante Kotoko SC and Nsoatreman FC.
“Bechem United FC is deeply saddened and outraged by the tragic and senseless murder of Pooley.”
Dr. Achau has a personal interest in ending violence in football, having witnessed some of the darkest moments in Ghanaian football. The club highlighted the May 9 disaster and the bloody clash between B.A. United and Bechem United as examples.
These incidents, it said, forced him to quit football before later rescinding his decision.
“Enough is enough and the time to say NO to hooliganism is NOW!..Bechem United FC is determined to lead the fight against hooliganism.”
This comes after a former Management member of Asante Kotoko, also offered GHC10,000 for anyone who offers relevant information for the arrest of the culprit.
The stabber has been identified by police facts sheet as Braimah.
