Pooley Murder: Sunyani CID Pursuing Credible Leads to Arrest Prime Suspect

The Sunyani Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service is confident of arresting the prime suspect in the murder of Asante Kotoko football fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley.

According to the CID, Lydia Yaako Donkor, the team is currently pursuing credible leads.

“The Sunyani CID is actively pursuing credible leads which could lead to the arrest of anyone involved in the crime,” she said at a presser in Accra on March 9, 2026.

This, she said, is among the high-profile cases with intensified investigations.

Pooley, a devoted supporter of Kotoko, was fatally stabbed in February 2025 by an unidentified individual during a match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
