Pooley Killing: Asantehene Is Firmly Behind Us- Nana Apinkra
The Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of Asante Kotoko, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, says the Life Patron of the club, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is solidly rallying behind them in the pursuit of justice over the murder of Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
Delivering a speech at a vigil held on Sunday evening at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in memory of Pooley, he said the King of the Asante Kingdom is constantly updated with developments relating to the murder.
Additionally, he said the Monarch is offering all the support needed in the situation and therefore urged the section of the fans planning to take revenge to desist.
“Otumfuo is firmly behind us. He is fully aware of this and so forget about revenge. We have everything under control.”
Pooley met his untimely death at Nsoatre after being stabbed at the end of a game between Kotoko and Nsoatreman SC on February 2, 2025.
So far six persons have been arrested in connection with the murder.
