Political Analyst Not Surprised by NPP’s Super Delegates Conference Outcome
Mr. Yiadom Boakye, a Political Analyst, has expressed his lack of surprise over the outcome of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Super Delegates Conference. He mentioned that most of his predictions turned out to be accurate, despite a few exceptions.
“I wasn’t surprised by the Super Delegates Conference outcome. Most of the candidates I predicted to win, indeed emerged victorious,” he stated in an interview on Opemsuo Radio’s Nkwantannanso with George Adjei on August 28.
He elaborated on his projections, mentioning that he anticipated Joe Ghartey and Boakye Kyeremateng Ayarko to secure wins for regional balance. However, Joe Ghartey couldn’t qualify, and Agarko ended up in a tie with another candidate.
Furthermore, he pointed out that Kennedy Agyapong’s victory over Alan Kyerematen was somewhat expected due to Ken’s extensive reach and connections.
During the recently concluded NPP Super Delegates Conference, four presidential candidates successfully secured positions in the shortlist of five flagbearer aspirants.
Although the intention was to select five candidates, two candidates ended up tied.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, led the votes with 68.15% of the total, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 15.03%, and Alan Kyerematen with 10.29%. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto came fourth with 3.90%. The fifth place remained contested between Francis Addai Nimo and Boakye Kyeremateng Ayarko.
