Police Probe Asiyaw Shootings That Claimed 5 Lives

The police in the Eastern Region are investigating a recent shooting incident at Asiyaw in Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality that claimed five lives.

The tragic incident on April 29 is said to have resulted from a dispute over a sandwinning concession.

The Eastern South Regional Police Command reports that police officers responded to the scene to find the lifeless bodies of five male adults with gunshot wounds.

“The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary for preservation, identification and autopsy while the investigation continues to get the perpetrators arrested,” a police statement noted.

Meanwhile, the police impounded a Toyota Tacoma vehicle, a Toyota Tundra vehicle, a pump action gun with seventeen (17) live cartridges, four empty cartridges, three 7.62/39mm empty shells, a 9mm empty shell and five heavy-duty motorbikes which were found at the scene.
