Police ‘Kill’ 2, Grip 1
A highly trained crime combat police team has gunned down two suspected armed robbers in Accra when they attempted to bolt after leading the police force to their hideout.
The two suspected armed robbers were arrested in an attempt to rob motorists along the Koluedor-Sege-Accra main road.
Following an interrogation upon their arrest, the two led the crime combat team to a bush near Zenu under the pretext of aiding them to retrieve some weapons and arrest other accomplices on Saturday.
The police came under fire as the two suspects attempted to escape. The officers returned fire, the suspects were shot in the process, and were rushed to the Police Hospital where they eventually died, the police recounted in a communiqué.
The deceased are; Joseph Dagodze and Mujahid Abubakar also known as Sule.
Additionally, 65-year-old Bukari Salifu was fingered during interrogation, as a supplier of their weapons. He was subsequently arrested through intelligence, the police disclosed.
The police also retrieved two pistols and two motorbikes.
