Police Investigate Fire Outbreak at School Housing Ballot Boxes
The police have launched investigations into the fire outbreak at Kwashieman Cluster of Schools in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
The school which was housing the Ablekuma North Constituency ballot boxes caught fire in the early hours of December 17, 2024.
In a press statement, the police urged the public to remain calm, assuring that the investigation had begun.
“We wish to assure the public that any individual or group of individuals found responsible for this incident will be arrested and brought to face justice.”
The police suspect that this might be among the numerous violence that have been recorded in the aftermath of the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
It said 132 suspects have been arrested across the country in connection with the post-election disturbances.
Out of this number, 45 suspects have been remanded into custody, 71 are on Police enquiry bail, and 16 are on court bail.
