Police Go After Alleged KUMACA Boys who Assaulted a Female Student
The Ghana Police Service has initiated investigations into a viral video of a female student captured as a victim of physical abuse and torment by alleged male students of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA).
The video which went viral on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, portrayed the girl in a checked uniform being hauled at night by a group of boys after reportedly being caught in a sexual act on campus.
It also showed her being beaten by one of the boys in the video which has widely been shared on social media drawing the attention of the police service and school authorities.
In a statement on Wednesday evening, the service responded to the calls, saying investigations have commenced.
“The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into a viral video in which a group of young men were seen harassing a female student.”
It also expressed commitment to get to the bottom of the matter and have the culprits identified and arrested.
“We wish to assure the public that the perpetrators will be identified and arrested to face justice.”
