Police Foil Robbery On Gold Buying Shop
The Ghana Police Service has reported a foiled robbery attack on Adom Gold Buying shop, a gold buying shop at Konongo in the Ashanti region.
The incident transpired on August 3, 2022.
A police report stated that the police received a distress call about the robbery around 7 pm on that day and proceeded to the scene.
On sighting the police, the robbers opened fire on the officers and managed to escape.
One officer reportedly sustained an injury and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, according to the police.
“While the robbers were fleeing the scene upon seeing the Police, they started shooting indiscriminately injuring an officer in the process. Police returned fire but the robbers managed to escape”.
The police service has therefore urged hospitals and other health facilities in the area to report to the Police any persons who report to them for treatment of gunshot wounds or any other wounds.
