Police Arrest Viral Jamestown Shooter on Homicide Unit Wanted List

The Ghana Police Service has nabbed a 29-year-old man who was captured in a viral video indiscriminately discharging a firearm at Jamestown in Accra.

Samuel Aryeetey Kortor was arrested on April 9 through an intelligence-led operation.

“A further search of the suspect’s residence at Gbese-Jamestown uncovered a Beretta pistol with Serial No. PX-195994,” it said in a statement.

Initial investigation by the police further revealed that the suspect is also wanted by the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for murder.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting the investigation while the investigation is ongoing to get the remaining suspects arrested.
